What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a gift of art?
Pictured above is
Maggie's Map, a 12" X 12" mixed media painting on board. I painted it as a companion to
New Slang (which you've seen before,
Illustration Friday).
This commission was for a young mother who wanted to give her daughters paintings, hopefully to inspire a lifelong love of art. The mother described her daughters' personalities, interests, and favorite colors, and I took it from there.
I would love work with you to create something, using personal mementos, quotes, or poetry. If you are interested in commissioning an original painting, e-mail me at kathymccullen@aol.com.

What a bright and happy painting, and your blog too dear! The yellow popped up and made me smile! Hope you are doing well, and I wish you a great weekend!
Lovely Kathy, I'm sure it will be a special surprise for them! I'm such a lover of hearts they always speak to me!

I love your strong use of color!!
Your clients will be thrilled with these, Kathy!!! And just like two young girls, they're vibrant, colorful and filled with joy and love. Bravo! Hugs, Terri xoxo
Gorgeous!!! I just want to reach out and touch it!
what a beautiful painting!! love it!
Kathy, you never fail to inspire me and to cheer up my day with such stunning colour and content.
Fantastic!!
I do love your use of colour in your abstract paintings Kathy. In fact, I would definitely put you down as inspiration for looking more into this art form. I bought a new book called Accessible Abstracts this week and have been devouring it as much as time allows. I can't wait to try something a little different.
Very inspiring in here!!
Very very pretty! Great colours!
Beautiful vibrant painting!
I've been doing valentines/heart inspired art but nothing like your fab painting.
Kat :-)
a very special gift. It's quite a challenge to do work for others like this...I know I just completed a commission that luckily the recipient loved.

I love it, Kathy! Especially the red snoopy on the left with the blue tongue hanging out. Or am I the only on who sees that? Congratulations on all your success.
