I painted this for my son Andrew on a piece of cardboard which I later adhered to a board. To make it special for him, I incorporated a number of personal elements, including a hidden message in the a secret code we've had since he was 2 years old. There's a special dictionary page, clothing labels, movie stubs, sheet music, and map, mixed media indeed! I love you, Andy-man.

Oh wow! Kathy, this is superb - absolutely gorgeous. Lucky Andy and lucky you to have such a loving and close relationship with your son. (I am sure that didn't happen by accident!!) My one and only son has lived in the UK for the past ten years and I have only seen him three or four times over the years. He is more English than the English now!
Your son must love this piece. You're so thoughtful to add things that mean something to him into your painting. You obviously have a wonderful relationship with him.
