for Theme Thursday and Inspiration Avenue
Yesterday I got a message on my Facebook page from my son's girlfriend Brooke, who is studying in China this summer. She said that she had been chased down the street by an angry Chinese man, after she picked up what she thought was a free magazine to bring home to me to use in my collages. Although the image of the lovely Brooke fleeing on her long legs fills me with delight, I do NOT want her to risk incarceration in a Chinese jail for the sake of my art! This journal page was initially inspired by Brooke, but then I started thinking all my wild and crazy, opinionated, outspoken, bad ass girlfriends out there, and I realized how many fierce beauties I use in my art, so I've decided to start a Bad Girl series in honor of those of you who inspire me every day. You know who you are. If you'd like a print of this page, they are available for $15.00; just e-mail me at kathymccullen@aol.com

Wow very impressive work.
She is a Beauty. Love the play with the different elements.
As my teacher/friend/inspiration Judy Wise told me earlier this week, "Bad is the new Good." ;)
I think we all need to let a little more of the Bad Ass in ourselves shine.

It's soooo good to see your "ladies" make appearances again, Kathy - I've missed them! Love the way you've illustrated this great quote! Hugs, Teri xoxo

Bad ass debutantes
Are naughty and seldom nice
Under wicked crowns.
Lovely nieces, lovely art. I'm sure they've picked up some of their good traits from their Aunt Kathy!
I dunno. Catherine the Great was rumoured to be a shrinking violet. Queen Elizabeth 1 wept when her orders for executing some poor soul were carried out. Even Queen Victoria had no idea her underlinings were carving an empire for her across the length and breadth of the globe. She just sat quietly not being amused. I love your picture but I fear the quote is a tad off skew.
