Love Is Blind

Bliss of Another Kind 12 X 12 acrylic, charcoal, oil stick, and paper on canvas for The Three Muses "Love is Blind" challenge.

This painting was inspired by the concerts in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens that I attended this summer with my sweet husband and our old friends Vickie and Bill, all of whom learned to turned over their ticket stubbs to me for the sake of my art. I used the tickets for texture along with concert programs from Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, and Joan Baez. You can no longer see any of these souvenirs, but I know they're there, and that's what matters. That and the memories I have of those summer nights and the music in the garden.

Katheeeeee! How clever to weave your memory ephemera into the background of your abstract. You, my dear, have an artist's soul!

Kathy what a wonderful way to keep your ephemera close and to add real experiences and emotions to your art. Thank you so much for sharing not only this beautiful piece but also the idea of what might be done with our keepsakes.

Hi Kathy! I have already left a comment above on your magnificent painting but wanted to thank you for your kind comments on my postcard and to agree with you WHOLEHEARTEDLY on the subject of the blog. First of all I can tell you that your blog froze me out of Blogland twice in the past half hour or so. This is a common occurrence for me with several blogs and I just have to wait sometimes up to ten minutes to get back in. Added to that, just lately the definition of pictures and texts on blog pages seems to have been reduced and it is necessary to enlarge most of them to appreciate the artwork. Just recently and for no reason, when I tried to post pictures, they kept coming up in html code. It is so aggravating!!
I am sorry to hear of all your problems and I do hope they are sorted out before too long. Support is a joke on the blog. Invariably we are referred to "user forums".

Cheers, Marie.

I keep meaning to tell you. I bought my first copy of Somerset Studio this month (managed to find a UK supplier) and was pleasantly surprised to find your wonderful artwork gracing the pages. Congratulations. A well-deserved feature :)
