Be Inspired

Be Inspired

for the Three Muses

Almost two years ago to the very day, my husband took me to an opening at the Bennett Street Gallery in Atlanta, and, if you've read my old posts, you know that this is what motivated me to resume my own study of art. Well, the artist was Kenson Thompson, whose work you can see here, and this weekend I am going to a two day mixed media workshop that she's teaching at the Art School of Sandy Springs. I've been working so hard on color and composition, and I think she will have so much to teach me about technique. I am so excited that I will be in the same room while she's weilding a paintbrush that I'm practically beside myself. I will be sure to take lots of photographs and share them with you, if that's okay with her, and, in the meantime, expect progress.

Love,
Kathy

P.S. Van Gogh's called to tell me that I sold "Lotus." Yippee!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Fantastic news. This one reminds me of "The Birth of Venus" for some obscure reason but, with the opening flower and the nest full of eggs it seems your inspiration is of a continuing rebirth as an artist which began two years ago. It is superb.

Congrats on the sale, and on the upcoming workshop. In the meantime, I love your guy here in the midst of your usual bold colors. Call yourself Alberta, Kathy or Gertrude, I'm still a groupie!

Beautiful piece, Kathy! ANd thank you so much for sharing the work of Kenson Thompson. I looked through her site - very inspiring. Taking workshops, especially if you teach, is so refreshing! I'm taking a few this year, including one with Karen Rosasco (take a look at her site)on experimental watermedia. Can't wait to see your posts and photos on the workshop this weekend. Enjoy!!!!

Hello Kathy, Thanks for visiting my place. We're not organized into a group. Just had one little lunch with folks who'd already connected in some way. It was very nice to meet in person and fun to run into each other at Atlanta events.

I don't know where this is going. Personally, I want Atlanta bloggers to rule the earth.
