The colours in this are so vibrant. Is that another page from your dictionary. Love the piccie below too. You always have such an incredible use of colour and bring so much personality to your pieces. On this one, the black and white drawing seems to bring the piece together. Love it!

Hi Alberta,

Thanks for visiting my blog today and for leaving such a sweet comment.

You asked about the serendipity technique, click here to read more about this random paperpiecing technique. She also have lots of links with examples. By the way I used very thin decoupage paper for my background :)

Have fun!!

I love this one, Alberta !!! I just finished doing the GPP Street Team challenge where Michelle Ward had us using snowflakes and icy colors as we "braved the elements". Your burst of hot color feels so wonderful - I want your kind of dreams !
Have a great week, lovely, lovely friend !

Hi Katherine - Thank you for stopping my blog - I know what you mean about needed a warm up! It's been in the single digits here too. It's just so frozen...cold...kind of bleak. It's nice to get out my journals and revisit my travels. Happy journaling to you too - you have lots of nice pages on your blog too - love the color.

How do you get your work so bright? What kind of paints, etc. do you use? I love the brightness of your art pieces.
Cheers,

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. Color is vitally important to me, in almost every aspect of my life. I literally need color to be happy and healthy. I use acrylic paints in my work, mostly Golden acrylics. Magenta, turquoise, lime green, red, and yellow seem to be my favorites. I sometimes enhance the basecoat with watercolor crayons and various kinds of markers.

Hey Alberta,
Your house looked so pretty for Christmas! Yes, I have planted paper whites before but my DH hates
how they smell so I don't plant them anymore. I loved coming back and looking ar your colorful journaling page again. It is really inspiring and one of my favorites for this week's theme!
