Eat Love Pray

I decided to go back to Bali yesterday for a day of healing and art. I had a head cold and ached all over, but you know me: any excuse for a celebration.

Eat, Love, Pray

So I called the school sub-hotline, told them where my emergency lesson plans were, and lit some candles. Soon the aroma of mango and jasmine filled 2 Muse Studio, and I was settled in my comfy chair with George Harrison on the cd player. Ava, the best, best, best sister in the world brought me my favorite sick food: hot and sour soup, and six hours, one nap, and two chai tea lattes later, I had completed one journal page and one and a half small journal canvases... Thank you all fellow travelers! I am much better today, thanks to my nontraditional cure. In answer to your question, Jean, the lotus and suns are painted on watercolor paper and collaged onto the canvas which is also painted. The turquoise image is a rubber stamp, and the Buddha is a black and white image cut from an old book and handtinted with inks and paint.

Ohhh, Alberta! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been entertaining some errant germs!!! I must say, I adore your healing solution of candles and tea (with a healthy dose of "wonderful sister")! Feel better, My Friend! Love & Healing Hugs from Nova Scotia, Terri xoxo

What a blissful piece! So sorry you had to live through an achy head cold along the way! Since this is what comes out of your healing regimen, can you imagine what wonderful things would come by following this routine when you're well? Nirvana!!

You just described my idea of heaven! Except for the sick bugs of course :) I really like your collage style, vibrant colors, and sense of whimsy.

I thought you might be interested to know that the REAL Bali is a four to five hour flight from here in the south-west of Oz. Vacations (including air fare) are cheaper than inside Australia and it is a very popular place for Australians to visit.
I do hope you enjoyed your day in Bali with George Harrison serenading you. Didn't he have the sweetest voice? I love the beautiful lotus flower.

I hope you're feeling much better. It sounds as though a day at home with your soup, tea and art was what you needed.
Love this piece and love the book,
