Hobby or Addiction? You Tell Me

Mixed Media Monday said to show what we love to do. Well....I wasn't going to tell you this, but the only reason I even stopped working on this card yesterday was because my husband came and pulled me out of my studio at 3:30 in the afternoon, after Ava tattled and told him I hadn't eaten anything yet and was still in my nightgown, and she was worried about my blood sugar. Thanks for nothing, BFF. (You know what they say about payback). I had only been working on the birthday card for my baby since 10:00 a.m., and I still had lots to do, but he said it was an intervention and that I couldn't even look back. I fooled them both, though. I came home from school before Ava did, and while Mr. Al was at the grocery store, I sneaked back up to my attic and tweaked my card just a little.

Oh, I adore this card...and it is nice to know that I'm not the only one who suffers from low blood sugar thanks to art. My hands will actually be shaking sometimes which makes creation rather difficult. There is such liveliness and imagination in your piece. Bravo!

This is what I love about your work... it's so bright and fun. I bet your DS absolutely loves his card. It's perfect!!
You must start taking a banana or something to eat with you - then no-one can moan about your blood sugar.... just an idea!!

I don't know if it's an addition, but it's a wonderful card!

I love the tweaking it is even more eye popping now. I never get that low blood sugar thing, I keep biscuits at hand always!

Yet another wonderful creation of yours! Fun reading the back story too! On mixed media pieces I often find looking at it the next day helps me see where it may need a little something.

First off, most importantly and straight away, I LOVE this card!!!! Happy birthday to your son!

And secondly, I almost called the paramedics one afternoon, when all of a sudden I got the shakes and thought I would pass out. I looked at the clock and it was 4PM---I had been in the studio since 7AM--3 cups of tea, nothing to eat!! So, I ate. I didn't pass out. I still do this occasionally, but not purposely (usually). When you're in "right brain" mode exclusively, your mind doesn't register the time, but your blood sugar does!! You're not alone!!

But the most important thing is, I LOVE the card!!
