Bayou at Buccatuna

Bayou at Buccatunna
5" X 12" acrylic, oil pastel, ink, charcoal, and marker on panel for Paint Party Friday

This little one is the very last from the series of paintings I created this summer after a visit to my childhood stomping grounds in south Mississippi. I still cannot get enough of this gold, magenta, red viloet, and black color combination, although I'm pretty sure I never saw a sunset like this even on Buccatunna Creek. The mystery of those forested wetlands and the dark shallows of the swamps inspired this painting, just the same. Bayou at Buccatunnna is currrently available at Lucas Road Fine Art and Jewelry, and, if you're interested in purchasing it, you can just give my friend Neubern a call (601) 483-0028.

in regards to my blog (the fishing cat) if I could reach even a tiny percentage of all the cat lovers cared about the fishing cat, they would not be in peril.

Did you know your link on PPF is going to an old painting? Mine did that too - I thought it was something I had done!!

Anyway, I recognised your painting from before (are you impressed!!).

Thanks to all of you for sticking with me to find this week's painting! I had a problem linking to PPF, don't know what went wrong.

Mary, I am not familiar with Wolf Kahn, but I will be shortly, thanks to you and Google,

Hi Kathy! Thanks for visiting my blog. I have visited you many times over the past year or so, you'll find me among your followers. I love your paintings, especially the abstracts. The way you add the charcoal bits just knocked me out the first time I saw it. I'll be back often..
I hope you will visit my 100 Themes art blog sometime too. It was an amazing challenge. There's a link on my sidebar.

I love this Bayou piece--such wonderful color!
