Lights, Camera, Auction!

Last year, at the Buckhead Arts & Crafts Festival, I met Mikki Hawkins, a parent of two children who attend Warren T. Jackson Elementary School, and she asked me if I might be interested in assisting a class with their projects for the biannual fundraising auction, Jacksonwood. Being a teacher and a strong proponent of the arts in school, I was thrilled to be able to help.

I got to help the second grade class assemble their block prints of sea creatures into mixed media paintings

Here's a sample of the sixteen 12"X 12" paintings we completed. Wouldn't they be great in a beach house?

They look fabulous hung in a mass display or individually.

And here are some from the blue series.

The auction and gala will be this Friday night. You can get your tickets here, if you'd like to attend. Or you can take a peek at their online catalog. There are going to be so many great things to bid on. My painting Rose Glow , which you can see here is also going to be on the auction block!

So join me Friday for an exciting evening at the Park Tavern overlooking beautiful Piedmont Park in Atlanta. Hope to see you there!

They did such a great job. Love the simplicity of them, makes an amazing collage. Have a great time at the Auction/Gala, I'm sure it's going to be a splendid time.

I hope someone rich with a big beach house buys every one of them!
